about

This tune is another reboot of an old favourite from the first Printing Press album, "Exhibit A." It was originally a pretty folky guitar-based tune and has morphed into a funk-a-licious epic complete with organ solos, guitar shots, 3-part harmony, and an extended piano feature. It even got some country along the way! A sometimes nonsensical but always enjoyable tune that makes the most of all four instruments in the band. And, hey, did you catch the famous quote at the beginning and the end?

lyrics

She went out for dinner on the caravan,
And woke up for breakfast with another man.
You can't see when your eyes are closed.
So tell me - tell me now - how to strike this pose.
My mother told me something, I remember that"
"La dee da dee da and the cat in the hat."

And oh,
I remember standing
By the river yelling,
That sunny day.
And oh,
I remember singing:
"You can't be winning,
So keep running away."

She tripped up again, like she did before.
And no-one even hears the knock at the door.
Walking into work on a holiday,
Wrapping up hope in a ball of clay.
58 pianos and a baseball bat -
La dee da dee da and the cat in the hat.

And oh,
I remember standing
By the river yelling,
That sunny day.
And oh,
I remember singing:
"You can't be winning,
So keep running away."
